Still have the lot truck tow vehicle. I am staying temporarily at a friend’s place. Being out of province means the sixth month clock is ticking. Looking to continue full time. Doesn’t see, to be any places on Vancouver island to full time and have an address for government purposes. Any suggestions.

Comment on The Ultimate Guide to Dealing with RV Condensation by LivingAdventure http://fulltimecanada.ca/ultimate-guide-to-dealing-with-rv-condensation/#comment-60334 Thu, 21 May 2020 21:32:17 +0000 http://fulltimecanada.ca/?p=2354#comment-60334 I really appreciated this post explaining the method of measuring humidity, as it gave me a good starting point for my own research. We moved into a 27ft travel trailer full time, and with two people and two big dogs the condensation definitely builds up quickly. It may not be winter right now, but several days of rain and cool temperatures has led us to splurge on a 35 pint dehumidifier. Canadian Tire seems to be one of the few places that stocks them in some stores, whereas most other places you have to get dehumidifiers ordered in. After doing some quick research I was able to walk into the store and compare several units.

Earlier in April, when there was still some snow on the ground but it wasn’t cold and wet outside, we often found that just making sure the trailer had a couple hours every day without anyone/anything creating moisture was sufficient. Taking the dogs for a car ride into town was enough to get the fog off the windows for the rest of the day. I’ll sometimes leave the door wide open while I take the dogs out for a quick potty break, just to rapidly exchange some of the air in the trailer.

Hi Sophie…it sounds like you have a good idea. I would think most campgrounds would at the very least require permission to do so but that could be an interesting opportunity/partnership to explore. We’ve seen some resorts bring in a local for massage before so its possible. Hope it works out for you!

Comment on Starting A Business In An RV by Sophie Hawkins http://fulltimecanada.ca/starting-business-rv/#comment-60222 Sun, 17 May 2020 00:19:16 +0000 http://fulltimecanada.ca/?p=2645#comment-60222 Hello Kate,

My name is Sophie and I’m from London, Ontario. You have a lovely site with lots of very helpful information. Thank you very much! I am a single women planning to become a full-time RVer in the very near future. If you have a moment, I’d like to ask some business related questions. I have been self-employed as a Thai and Ayurvedic Massage Therapist for over 16 years. I also teach Ayurvedic cooking classes and do Health Assessments and I make people websites, I’m an experienced gardener, etc., so I have a number of skills. I’m just finishing up a Movie called Deep Yoga that I plan to take on the road via the RV to various Yoga Centres, hopefully film festivals, Community venues, etc. My question is, do people do work like massage out of their RV’s in the parks? Is it allowed? Could I like hang a shingle off the side of the RV? Any suggestions you might have how I can offer my skills to the RV community would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and all the best on your adventures! Peace, Sophie

I am in Ontario and look forward to jump in this Full Time Life Style. I have hard time to find Insurance coverage providing Personal Liability with worldwide coverage (like I do have with Home Policy), when I tell brokers that I will not have any apartment/house to get such coverage included. Also, I just learned today that Wayfarer and Aviva would be the same (getting a partial quote from Wayfarer on Aviva Fax). So its seems that there is no much choice in Canada, or least in Ontario. Despite I own a vacant lot, having a civic address and a mailbox associated to it, I cannot use this property to get Home Coverage in order to get Personal Liability; not sure if it can be considered as “permanent residence” by governments. I feel a bit stuck with this. I did not received any favorable answer from brokers so far, after few weeks of research. If any have some idea, it would be welcome. Thanks!
